Meander for trumpet and two pianos (2016)

About the piece:

Meander explores the slowly shifting harmonies and the interlocking of different rhythmic patterns. This piece is centred on Bb and the two main chords that are used in most of the piece are built from Bb, adding 1, 2, 3, and 4 semitones above each new note. The first and final section focuses on the changing harmonies while maintaining a constant, dense texture. The middle section, however, explores freer writing for the trumpet and the textures of the two pianos.
